The Faculty of Law, Semarang State University has 2 Study Programs. Bachelor of Law Study Program S1 and Master of Law Science S2. The Law Studies Program at Semarang State University was founded on September 4, 2001. The license to organize this study program was obtained on December 16, 2004 through a permit from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of National Education Number 4796 / D / T / 2004. Although its existence is still under the Faculty of Social Sciences, in 2005, 2006, and 2007 the Law Study Program recruited new student candidates through the University local selection (SPMU) and national selection, namely the New Student Admissions Selection (SPMB) and UMB-PT). The license to operate the Study Program has been extended 2 times, namely:
- The permit to extend the Study Program is based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No.398 / D / T / 2007 dated March 1, 2007.
- Permit to extend the Study Program based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No.4129 / D / T / K-N / 2010 dated 28 October 2010.
On 19 November 2007, with letter No. 3840 / D / T / 2007, this study program received approval from the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Ministry of National Education to become the Faculty of Law which was strengthened by the Decree of the Rector of Semarang State University Number 119 / O / 2007 regarding Study Program Improvement Law Science became the Faculty of Law, Semarang State University, November 30, 2007. After 2 years, to be precise in 2019 the Law Study Program received Accreditation B (Good) based on the SK. BAN-PT NO. 025 / BAN-PT / AK-XII / S1 / VIII / 2009.
The Law Study Program is under the auspices of the Faculty of Law UNNES. The Law Studies Study Program was established as a consequence of the expansion of the mandate (wider mandate) of the IKIP Semarang to Semarang State University (UNNES). As an integral part of the university guidance system, the Law Science Study Program guidance system refers to the Semarang State University statute listed in the Minister of National Education Regulation No. 8 of 2011. The Law Studies Program is under the management of the Faculty of Law, Semarang State University. The Law Study Program is led by a Head of Study Program (Kaprodi) who is also concurrently the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs because the Faculty of Law has only held 2 study programs.
