Research activities are part of the Tridharma of Higher Education and as a campus scientific responsibility (lecturers) need to be appreciated by carrying out research optimally. For this reason, the faculty provides full support including fees for lecturers to be able to produce quality research in the field of Law Science and can make a real contribution to the development of UNNES towards an international level.
Currently, the number of lecturers at the Faculty of Law UNNES is 46 people. All lecturers have conducted research either as members or chairmen. Apart from research funded by the Faculty and the University through PNBP funds and pure rupiah. Several lecturers at the Faculty of Law have obtained DP2M research funding. However, efforts to encourage lecturers to continue to improve lecturers’ research, universities and faculties provide offers to lecturers and increase the amount of activity budget. To give appreciation to researchers, faculties and universities program rewarding activities for lecturers who conduct research and are included in accredited national journals and international journals.
In addition to the rewards given by universities and faculties, in order to improve research skills, the Faculty of Law both independently and together with research institutions has organized training or research workshops for both novice researchers and senior researchers. It is hoped that in the coming years, lecturers can obtain grants and conduct higher quality research, especially those related to improving learning performance.
To maintain the quality of the research conducted by lecturers, a team of evaluators will conduct monitoring and evaluation. Apart from that, a research seminar was also held which was attended by all lecturers to disseminate the results to lecturers and related parties. Outputs from research results produced by Lecturers at the Faculty of Law UNNES must be published in seminars both nationally and internationally and in accredited national and international scientific journals.

To encourage lecturers to be interested and accustomed to carrying out community service activities, Universities and Faculties have provided facilities that offer community service activities every year.
To improve the ability to formulate community service proposals, faculties and universities conduct training and upgrading for prospective community service candidates. In order to give appreciation to lecturers who carry out community service activities, faculties and universities program rewarding activities for lecturers who display the best community service work. The hope is that in the coming years, lecturers are accustomed to carrying out community service activities in order to provide real work and contribution to national development, and the development of legal science in particular.

Pandecta Research Law Journal (Pandecta)
Pandecta Research Law Journal created to be a means of dissemination of the results of legal research for all researchers who have interest in the field. Through the dissemination of research results in the journal is expected to grow a network of researchers in the field of law according to their research interests. In addition, through the dissemination of the research is expected to develop the jurisprudence of the field of interest.
The scope of this journal is the publication of research in the field of law, both written by researchers from the fields of law or other parties whose study is law. This journal is published twice in a year, that is on JUNE AND DECEMBER.

Journal of Private and Commercial Law accepts writing in English. Journal of Private and Commercial Law is published twice a year (Semi-Annually) in May and November. The article will go through a peer-review process and ensuring a blind peer-review process. Based on the review will determine whether the manuscript will be published or not.

Law Research Review Quarterly (L. Research Rev. Q.) was published online for the first time in February 2020 (ISSN 2716-3415, also see ROAD DATA), however, this journal had previously been published in several editions under the name “Seminar Nasional Hukum Universitas Negeri Semarang“, which was originally intended to publish research results that had been disseminated in the National Seminar. Over time and as a form of improving the quality of publications, the name Law Research Review Quarterly was officially used in the 2020 issue and beyond. The Law Research Review Quarterly is published by the Law Faculty of Semarang State University in collaboration with the Association of Indonesian Legal Journal Managers. The Law Research Review Quarterly is intended to be a national and international journal that provides a forum and forum for academics, legal practitioners, legal observers, students, researchers and the general public who have an interest in the field of legal science. The Digest: Journal of Jurisprudence and Legisprudence
Fakultas Hukum, Universitas Negeri Semarang menerbitkan untuk pertama kalinya The Digest: Journal of Jurisprudrence and Legisprudence. Terbitnya Jurnal ini juga tak dapat dipungkiri merupakan hasil kerja keras dan perhatian dari banyak pihak, oleh karena itu redaksi mengucapkan terimakasih kepada para mitra bestari yang berkenan memberikan saran dan kritik kepada redaksi dan juga mengkaji dan meninjau tulisan-tulisan yang ada. Juga kepada seluruh anggota redaksi dan dewan editor yang telah meluangkan waktu untuk bekerja agar jurnal The Digest ini dapat terbit. Jurnal Digest ini terbit secara berkala dua kali dalam setahun. Jurnal ini diharapkan dapat menjadi media dan wadah bagi para pemerhati lembaga peradilan dan produk layanan pengadilan. Pada penerbitan pertama ini untuk menjaring dan membangun wacana tentang pembaharuan peradilan dan memantik perdebatan dalam pembaharuan doktrin hukum yg terjadi dalam praktek pengadilan. Diharapkan kedepannya akan memantik perdebatan atas setiap pembaharuan doktrin maupun kejumudan penggunaan doktrin di pengadilan.

Jurnal Pengabdian Hukum Indonesia merupakan peer reviewed journal yang menerbitkan artikel-artikeel hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat, utamanya pengabdian dalam bidang hukum. Jurnal Pengabdian Hukum Indonesia diterbitkan oleh Fakultas Hukum Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), Indonesia, Semi-Tahunan (dua kali dalam satu tahun). Jurnal Pengabdian Hukum Indonesia merupakan jurnal ilmiah yang memiliki perhatian pada upaya diseminasi hasil pengabdian masyarakat dan wadah diskusi metode-metode dan teknik terkini dalam penguatan masyarakat dalam pendekatan bidang hukum.
Jurnal Pengabdian Hukum Indonesia terbit dalam Bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris, baik cetak maupun online. Fokus dan Ruang Lingkup Jurnal Pengabdian Hukum Indonesia fokus pada semua isu-isu hukum dalam pengabdian dan penguatan kepada masyarakat. Topik yang dikaji adalah, namun tidak terbatasa pada, Hukum dan Penguatan Masyarakat, Hukum dan Masyarakat, Layanan Hukum, dan Bantuan Hukum.
